Planning Your First Visit to Dazzle Dental, Flower Mound Dentist

At Dazzle Dental Care, the Flower Mound dentist office of Johnie M. Nguyen, DDS, we want you to feel prepared and comfortable when you visit our office for the first time. Our family and cosmetic dentistry practice is glad to answer any questions you may have before you schedule and even long after treatment is complete. However, we have also put together this quick guide, so you’ll know what to expect on your first visit and have access to any paperwork you’ll need to fill out in advance.

How to Prepare for a Visit to Our Flower Mound Dentist Office

  1. Have your prior office email your x-rays to us. If your x-rays were taken less than one year ago, they’re still current and can be emailed to frontdesk@dazzledentalcare.com.
  2. Provide us with your insurance information. We’ll verify your benefits in advance, so your visit goes smoother.
  3. Make sure Johnie M. Nguyen, DDS is listed as your provider if you have Medicaid or TX Chip. If Dr. Nguyen is not listed as the main dentist on your child’s ID card, please call DentaQuest 1(800) 896-2374 or MCNA 1(800) 494-6262 to have the provider switched.

What to Bring to Your First Visit to Dazzle Dental

Any dental appliances you may have (dentures, partials, retainer, night guard, etc.)

Our new patient forms are available for download here. We also ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment start time, so we have time to make sure everything is in order and entered into our systems at the time your appointment is scheduled to begin. If you are unable to complete your paperwork in advance, please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment.

What to Expect at Your First Visit to Dazzle Dental

Unless you’re coming in for an emergency visit, our initial appointments are generally 60-90 minutes long. This gives you the opportunity to meet with the doctor to discuss your concerns, as well as time for x-rays, a comprehensive exam to assess your total oral health, and a consultation regarding the findings. Some of the things our doctors look for include:

  • Signs of gum disease
  • Bite and TMJ problems
  • Loose teeth
  • Broken teeth
  • Cavities
  • Lost or damaged fillings
  • The alignment and spacing of your teeth

As part of the exam, the doctor will also:

  • Have x-rays taken (if none are sent from a prior office)
  • Perform an oral cancer screening
  • Examine your dental appliances

You’ll Receive a Comprehensive Family and Cosmetic Dentistry Treatment Plan

As a leading Flower Mound dentist, Johnie M. Nguyen, DDS and our team at Dazzle Dental want to make sure you have a pleasant visit and receive the very best family and cosmetic dentistry services possible. As part of this, we’ll put together a “treatment plan,” which lists all of the doctor’s findings, including the type of cleaning or periodontal therapy that’s best for you. The doctor will also spend time with you, to explain concerns and answer your questions.

A member of our team will also go over the treatment plan with you to address any questions you have about insurance billing and scheduling of appointments. Bear in mind that most treatment plans are small, but if you haven’t had dental care in a while, you’re likely to need several appointments to get caught back up again and restore your beautiful smile. Should you find yourself in this situation, we will always treat you with the care and respect you deserve, as if you were our family. Our insurance experts will go to work reexamining your plan to maximize benefits and our treatment plan coordinator will help arrange the appointments in a way that’s manageable for you.
